  PIGS NATIONAL EVENT

Tuesday 16th & Wednesday 17th September 2025

Having chosen Hawkstone Park to host our National Event in 2023/4, the preferred choice of venue for 2025 was to return once again to our long time favourite Woodhall Spa.It was also decided that we should on the occasion play both the Bracken and Hotchkin courses on consecutive days.

Tuesday 16th September; Bracken Course

Competitions: Pairs "Invoco Challenge Trophy"

                          Beetle Trophy; Semi Final

Having secured our target number of attendees for the event we commenced playing the Bracken Course with the Beetle semi-finalists as per tradition leading the field. Phil Loader (Lon), Richard Stockwell (N/West), John Newsome (Yorks) and Andy Tombs (Mid). The "Invoco" pairings which followed them were comprised of mixed players from all four sections. The eventual winning pair was David Ramsbottom (Yorshire) and Paul Hanson (North West).

On completion of the days play and having to contend with a mix of weather, we all retired to our very welcome accommodation, staying at the Petwood Hotel as is our usual. Fine Dining, Wine and  catching up with old friends as is our norm.

Wednesday 17th September; Hotchkin Course

Competions: Beetle Trophy Final

                        Cyril Last Trophy

                        Monsanto Team Trophy

The Hotchkin Course was a challenge for us all on Wednesday morning and once again Beetle finalists led the field together with our newley elected President Robert Hands (refer to GALLERY for pics).

The day's challenge was competing for the Cyril Last Trophy and Monsanto Team Trophy, both Individual Stableford scoring competitions. The weather was more accommodating on this occasion and we all enjoyed ourselves. In Particular was Phil Loader of the London section who managed to pull off winning both the Beetle and Cyril Last Trophies! The Yorkshire Lads proved their collective worth by winning the Monsanto Team Trophy.

With all competitions completed plus a few drinks to congratulate or commiserate, we all headed back to the Petwood for a hot bath or shower. All of us looking forward to Dinner in our own private room, trophy and prize awards and our usual banter and socialising.

To view all winners receiving their trophies please go to the GALLERY Section.

NOTE: The Society is again returning to Woodhall Spa this year for our National Event.

Dates are;

Tuesday 15th September - Wednesday 16th September 2026

Thanks for stopping by. Have a look around and get to know us.

The Plastics Industry Golf Society (or "PIGS" in short) has now been running for 90 years interrupted only briefly during the WW11 period. The all male industry related networking society still functions as originally intended today. However in recent years it has opened up membership to individuals outside of the Industry but remains still a great and enjoyable way to network on the business front provisioning the opportunity to make new and maintain old friendships.

New members and guests are always welcome at our regional meetings, where we play some of the top 100 courses in the UK, including Woodhall Spa (National Event) Sunningdale GC (London),  Beau Desert GC (Midlands), Caldy GC (North West) and Moortown GC (Yorkshire).

We welcome your thoughts, comments, and new members. Please use the contact form to get in touch with our National Secretary expressing your particular regional interest.
