PIGS NATIONAL EVENT
Tuesday 15th & Wednesday 16th September 2026
The PIGS met for our annual meeting at Woodhall Spa on the 15th and 16th September with a full house of 32 players.
On the first day we played the Bracken course for the Beetle Semi Final & Invoco Challenge (Betterball) Trophy
Martin Lewis (London) and Clive Gregson (Yorkshire) made it through to the Beetle Final and Richard Stockwell (NorthWest) and Philip Marchant (London) won the Invoco Challenge Trophy.
On the second day we played the very highly rated and challenging Hotchkin course for the Beetle Trophy Final, the Cyril Last Trophy and the Monsanto Team Trophy.
Martin Lewis (London) won the Beetle Final, Steve Hayes (Midlands) won the Cyril Last Trophy and Midlands Section won the Monsanto Team Trophy.
We stayed 2 nights at the nearby excellent Petwood Hotel (the wartime Officers Mess of 617 Squadron of "Dambusters" fame) and on the second night we all enjoyed a Gala Dinner and prize presentation at which Rob Laceby was presented with the "Chain of Office" to mark the start of his year as National President.
As usual a most enjoyable occasion was experienced by all attendees with the booking repeated for 2027
Thanks for stopping by. Have a look around and get to know us.
The Plastics Industry Golf Society (or "PIGS" in short) has now been running for 90 years interrupted only briefly during the WW11 period. The all male industry related networking society still functions as originally intended today. However in recent years it has opened up membership to individuals outside of the Industry but remains still a great and enjoyable way to network on the business front provisioning the opportunity to make new and maintain old friendships.
New members and guests are always welcome at our regional meetings, where we play some of the top 100 courses in the UK, including Woodhall Spa (National Event) Sunningdale GC (London), Beau Desert GC (Midlands), Caldy GC (North West) and Moortown GC (Yorkshire).
We welcome your thoughts, comments, and new members. Please use the contact form to get in touch with our National Secretary expressing your particular regional interest.
