THE PIGS GOLFING SOCIETY

OFFICIAL WEBSITE

Thanks for stopping by. Have a look around and get to know us.

The Plastics Industry Golf Society (or "PIGS" in short) has now been running for almost 88 years interrupted only briefly during the WW11 period. The all male society still functions as originally intended, however in recent years it has opened up membership to individuals outside of the Plastics Industry but is still a great and enjoyable way to network on the business front provisioning the opportunity to make new and maintain old friendships.

New members and guests are always welcome at our regional meetings, where we play some of the top 100 courses in the UK, including Woodhall Spa (our national event)  Sunningdale GC (London),  Beau Desert GC (Midlands), Wilmslow GC (North West) and Moortown GC (Yorkshire).

We welcome your thoughts, comments, and new members. Please use the contact form to get in touch with our National Secretary expressing your particular regional interest.

  PIGS NATIONAL EVENT
         Hawkstone Park

Sunday 17th & Monday 18th September 2023

This was our first society visit to Hawkstone Park with representation from all of our four sections. Playing the Invoco "Pairs" competition (Championship Course) on Sunday we managed to complete the course avoiding the forecast rain. Enjoying our Hotel stay and excellent catering, all anticipated playing the Hawksone course the following day.

Unfortunately the weather made every attempt to thwart us with torrential rain flooding all of the Greens! However it has to be said, the Hawkstone management team worked very hard and eventually got us off playing 2 hours later than our scheduled tee off time.

The weather did improve and we even had Sun to assist with our enjoyment of the course which, despite all the earlier rain, was in great condition.

With all competitions completed and heading back to the Hotel, we could all look forward to Dinner in our own private room, prize giving and our usual socialising.

With the London Section dominant in terms of numbers attending, they also swept the board winning out right all major trophies and even sharing the Pairs Trophy. Well done London.

To view all winners receiving their trophies please go to the GALLERY Section.
